<3 Dishwalla <3

Last week, as I was sorting through old CD’s, I discovered Dishwalla’s Pet Your Friends tape and And You Think You Know What Life’s About  CD. Love, love, love. And, yes, I said tape. Pet Your Friends came out in 95 and I didn’t get a CD player until 96. I don’t mean to oogle, but it also doesn’t hurt that frontman J.R. Richards is a hottie. I didn’t think so back in the day when he was sporting longer hair. Perhaps, like Dishwalla’s music, he just gets better with time?

James Iha

One of my most favorite bands in the 90’s was The Smashing Pumpkins. Sure, Billy Corgan is awesome, but I always liked D’Arcy and James Iha the best. When Iha came out with a solo album (Let It Come Down) in the late 90’s, I was super excited. I thought it was really good. Looking back, it was okay. I lost that CD years ago but came across a few tracks on an old mix tape recently. You know, that thing that’s not a CD but also not vinyl. Not sure what a mix tape is? Oh, you kids these days…google it, k?

I have to say, I still love the song Lover, Lover. It’s calm. It’s melodic. I used to fall asleep to it. Okay, maybe not, but I did really like it. I know B.C. is loved by all, but sometimes I felt like he got all the credit for a band that wouldn’t have been the same without the other founding members.

Holiday CD photos

A few weeks ago I took photos for my cousin Meghan’s holiday CD. Here is my favorite of the bunch:

While the setting looks like a cemetery, it’s actually not. It was in a little alleyway in an old part of town that we happened to stumble upon.

That’s TheBalm Hot Mamma blush on her cheeks and Sephora Sweet Candy Gloss in Guava Passion on her lips.

Hopefully everyone had a fantastic weekend. Mine was quite nice. My best friend was in town from SF and we had a blast. Friday we went to a Stone Foxes show. These kids are really, really, really good. Check them out if you get the chance. The rest of the weekend involved a lot of shopping but neither of us bought much. I did end up buying the dark gray swing jacket from a few posts down since I had an Old Navy friends & family discount.

In other shopping news I ordered a chandelier necklace last week but I wish I would have gotten the white instead so it will stand out against my all black wardrobe. Perhaps next timOh, and the Lancome Oscillation is working out a little better. I have to wipe excess product from the brush first and only use one coat. If you like a fuller lash by all means pack it on, just be ware that it may clump so have a clean lash brush handy.
